Remelisa Cullitan was born in Spokane, WA, 1989. In 2016, they received their BFA in Studio Art and their BA in Art History from Eastern Washington University with honors, Magna Cum Laude. Cullitan received the 2016 Frances B. Huston Medallion Award for the College of Arts, Letters, and Education for their academic achievements and community involvement. During their time in school, they worked for their university’s Student Affairs department at the EWU Downtown Student Gallery as a gallery attendant.

Cullitan is a co-creator of GlitterCouch, a platform for interviewing artists that are then shared on GlitterCouch's social media and was a recipient of a 2017 Spokane Arts Grant Award.

Cullitan has exhibited their artwork throughout the Inland Northwest since 2015. They were a recipient of the Artist Trust GAP award in 2018 for their series Necessities
